Jer is 30

So Jer turned the big 3-0 last week.

He got his windows tinted...something he has wanted for YEARS.  They are so dark.  I got the darkest you could legally go.  Now Jer is totally Gangsta!

We went out to dinner twice.  Once just the 2 of us, and the the second time with our friends the Ashmore's.

So with all of that Jer figured that was how his birthday was being celebrated.  Little did he know, that I had a surprise party planned for him on Friday.

We had the party at a park (mostly because I didn't want all of the people in my house, nothing for all the kids to do).  The trick was getting Jer to the park.  The day before I mentioned to him that Zac and I had gone to this park and there was a swing there that was really cool and that Zac had a blast on it so I wanted to take Jer there to see it.

Friday came, and Jer spent most of the day doing yard work.  I had to get him out of the house by 5:30 so people could come and get the grill and some of the supplies I had hidden away.  At 4:45, Jer was still going strong on yard work.  Thankfully, little man was up from his afternoon nap and getting frisky, so I was able to use him as my excuse to stop yard work and get us out of the house.

On the way to the park, Jer wanted to stop and get a Mtn. Dew, but I wouldn't stop because we needed to get to the party.  He was starting to think things were a little strange.  We get to the park and I park the car in from of one of our friends trucks.  Jer not realizing this was their truck says to me "you are going to block this car in", right past the truck is the pavilion full of our friends that Jer didn't even notice.  So I just looked at him and said "happy birthday" and pointed towards the pavilion.  He saw all the people and was surprised and happy.

We had a good time.  Fried up some burgers and hot dogs.  I got Jer a cake, but forgot to bring candles...so we improvised.

Happy 30th Old Man!
