Fun with Dad

So yesterday Zac was in an incredibly good mood ALL DAY.  He was all smiles and was just loving his dad.

Here are a bunch of "fun with Dad" photos.

Then he saw Mom taking his picture...and....serious face.

In other news, Zac has started to sleep through the night!  YAY!!!  He started this on Friday night. It was so unexpected (because babies are so predictable right?!).  When I woke up at 7 am on Saturday morning I was a little worried that he didn't wake up during the night (first thought of course is "did he stop breathing?"...all you mom's have thought this I know you have)...so of course I went to check on him and he was just sleeping.  He had moved around in his crib a bit, but he was still sleeping.  Love it.  It is an amazing feeling to get 6 hours of uninterrupted sleep!  I haven't had that since I got pregnant last October.  We are thinking it is not just a fluke because he has done it 3 nights in a row now...keep it up buddy.  Keep. it. up.

As Promised

PRESENTING...

Zac smiles at animals....

AND...

Zac talks to animals....

Oh and here are just a few more cute pictures.
Smiling at his teddy bear
(well at least we think it is smiling...he could just be trying to show us the back of his throat...who knows)

His shirt says "Hug Me" on it...doesn't it look like he is waiting for a hug here?
One thing I failed to mention in my last post was that he has found his voice enough to really wail when he is upset.  We are talking some serious yelling!  Very painful to my head...especially at 3 am!

2 Months

Really...2 months already?!?!  It is going by sooo fast.

Here is a 2 month picture...

Yes...he is incredibly tired in this picture...it was right before bedtime. (He inherited that beautiful glare from his mother)

So here is how big my little chunky monkey is...

Height: 23.5 Inches (70th percentile)
Weight: 13 lbs. 2 oz. (80th percentile)

Bottom line....he is HUGE!  So today at church I was looking around at all the other babies.  Zac is currently the youngest baby in the ward and there are easily 7 other babies right now (rough estimate).  The closest to Zac's age is 3 months...my baby is bigger than all of them except one!  I can't believe how fast he is growing...he is pretty dang close to growing out of the 0-3 months clothes already.

He is still doing a pretty good job sleeping.  He goes to bed around 10, sleeps until 2ish, eats, wakes up about 6ish, eats, wakes up about 10ish, eats, up for a little while, takes a quick 30 minute snoozer around 11:30ish, and then a good nap in the afternoon.  Though this doesn't happen perfectly everyday...it happens more often than it doesn't.  Good for my sanity

Things he is up to...he has found his hands and likes to chew on them.  He has found his thumb a few times, and we think it is only a matter of a few weeks before he is sucking on them all the time.  We are starting to figure him out and what his cries mean.  He has really good head control and pretty much holds it up all the time.  He is starting to stand in our arms though he can only do it for about 20 seconds at a time.  He LOVES baths.  They are the only way to calm him down at night when he is grouchy and ready for bed....speaking of grouchy....he really takes after his mommy when he is tired.  Neither of us are very nice to be around when we are tired.  Call me a bad mother but both him and I prefer that he sleeps on his stomach.  He still sleeps on his back, but he sleeps better and longer on his tummy (and no flat head).

He wants to be held all the time, which is hard on my back but it is easier to hold him all day than getting frustrated from him crying all the time if he is not.

Bottom line...we love him and get excited each time he does something new!

Zac Smiles!

He doesn't give them all that often...but he is starting to smile a lot more.  He especially gets grinning when we put him under his crib mobile (I have been meaning to get this on tape because it is soooo cute!  This week I promise).  Here are some Zac smiling pictures...these are in progressive order...tooo cute! (and it is not just gas).

Oootah

So we took Zac to Utah to meet the rest of his Grandparents and Aunts and Uncles (less Steven and Em and all of his cousins...he has yet to meet any of them).  It was a fun trip.  He was completely spoiled by being held pretty much every second while he was there.

We tried out swimming again.  The water at the pool was warmer than the lake, however it wasn't warm enough for our little heat lover.  He made it for about 20 minutes in the pool.  We went to Grandpa's house hoping to swim in his warm pool, but unfortunately it was too cool outside and the wind was blowing too hard that when you got out of the pool it would have been WAY too cold for him...so he had to sit out.  Luckily Aunt Stac was not swimming either so her and Zac hung out while Jer and I played water volleyball.

Here are a few pictures from the trip.
