So it doesn't really feel real yet. If I didn't have pictures of the child and hadn't been sick, I don't think I would believe that I was pregnant. I went to the doctor yesterday and she mentioned everything looks fine and said that I should feel it moving pretty soon and within a few weeks there will be no doubt there is something in there. Kind of looking forward to the alien type movements in the belly.
I am starting to feel much better lately. I still get nauseous from time to time, but not ALL the time so I'll take it!
I am still tossing my cookies every now and then but only when I cough on an empty stomach....and (from what I learned this morning) eating hot eggs on an empty stomach (don't worry, it didn't make me hate eggs. After throwing up I was able to come back and finish my breakfast...well most of it).
I am also starting to get my appetite back, which is a REALLY good thing. I have missed food. And you can tell. My doctor actually got mad at me and told me to start eating.
I am going to wait until my face looks presentable again before you get to see a full body shot. I still look malnourished in the face...add the fact that I am horribly pale (pale olive skinned people...not so pretty), the hormonal zits (that I think are finally subsiding), and my braces (yeah I got braces...again), I look like a pubescent 14 year old. Sooooo Hot!
We have made a couple of big purchases so far, with the first BIG purchase being a Dyson vacuum. Let me just tell you this is the best vacuum ever! Especially if you are a pet owner. They are pretty pricey, but I got it $100 off on a Christmas Sale. Our vacuum was working okay, but never seemed to get all of Ozzy's hair out of the carpet. I told Jer that if we are going to have a little one cruising around, I don't want the kid to be hacking up hairballs. So we got the Dyson....Awesome! I was sold after the first use...so much hair AND dust!
Next we have bought a crib and mattress. It was really weird walking around the baby section and actually looking at stuff to buy.
The other big purchases we have got in the pipeline are a dresser, glider and ottoman, pump, and a swing. We are getting lucky with the stroller and car seat and bassinett as other people will be giving them to us. Huge money savings there!
Am I missing any of the big purchases? Some people would say changing table, but I don't want one. I have plenty of diaper changing surfaces.
Once I know what we are having (on February 11th!) I think it may be easier to start buying some of the smaller things as well.

You're going to be one of those cute pregnant women who look good ALL the time...man, i'm jealous!
the bump is adorable and yeah for the vacuum and baby stuff!
I love the bump! I still can't believe you are pregnant! We are soooooo excited for you guys and can't wait to meet the lil' Hafen. I agree with the change table. We never used one and I think at one time we had a hand-me-down one and we never even used it. Really hoping to see you at your baby shower in May in Utah so we can see your preggy sexiness! We miss your faces bunches and bunches and bunches!!!!
Thanks for posting a picture so we could all say how jealous we are, however, I'm not the least bit jealous of how sick you are. I agree that having a fab vacuum ROCKs! We got an Oreck recently and I love it. Keep feeling better, and I hope your skin clears up soon so that we can see your lovely face again.
I think you are a slut and don't want to see cute pregnant pictures of you. It makes me jelouse and it's a commandment to not covet so please don't put anymore up because then it's your fault if I go to hell.
I am so excited for you. I didn't like pregnancy until we found out Mya was a girl. Everything changed for me that day. I can't wait for you to buy the little things. Make sure if you come to Utah for a shower that I get an invite. I would love to buy your baby a cute little outfit.
I didn't realize Tim was signed in. Sorry. This is Janine.
I'm with you don't get a changing table. I don't have one. You always end up changing them on the floor.
You don't even look like as big as when you pushed your own belly out. I want to see a progression.
I'm LOVING the belly (or lack thereof) :) I'm so excited for you guys and I'm SO glad you're feeling better. I want to see more pics!! :
Yeah, judging by the picture (and in person) you need to eat! Kind of tough, though, when your bod won't let you, huh? ; ) Hang in there. I wanna know what you find out today...boy or girl!! Ah, the suspense is killing me! ; )
So exciting. I am inviting myself to your shower right now :o) Steele is finally wearing the vest and hoodies you gave him, they are so cute, so I have some payback to do :o) Can't wait to find out what it is!
Uggg... dying here, I know you know, so spill!
